Description

The 40 hour RSPP refresher online course is governed by art. 32 paragraph 6 of Legislative Decree 81/08, corrective to Legislative Decree 106/09 and by the State-Regions Agreement of 07 July 2016.

On the basis of what is reported in Legislative Decree 81/08, the RSPPs are obliged to follow training and refresher courses in order to maintain their respective qualifications, in particular, the State-Regions and Autonomous Provinces Agreement of 07 July 2016 in Annex A, provides for RSPPs a five-year refresher course lasting 40 hours, valid for all ATECO sectors and SP1-SP2-SP3-SP4 production sectors. In the event that the update does not take place within the established deadlines, the requirements for being able to hold the role of RSPP until the training obligation is fulfilled are no longer met.

The Head of the Prevention and Protection Service is a mandatory figure in every private company and public body in which there are workers or subjects equivalent to them (trainees, worker members, etc.). The company can appoint a person internally or decide to turn to an external expert, in both cases the requirements set out in the art must be met. 32 of Legislative Decree 81/08. The tasks of the RSPP are multiple and the advantages presented by the choice to appoint personnel external to the company, brings benefits regarding cost savings for the training of internal personnel, continuous updating on the subject, control over the sanctions provided for by law in case of failure to comply with current regulations.

The RSPP refresher course has the objective of providing the necessary updates on health and safety in the workplace, on legislative innovations, on the obligation of training, on risk assessment in the company, on management systems, on the management of emergency, on prevention and protection procedures from specific risks.

The RSPP refresher course is provided in e-learning mode as expected from Annex V of the State-Regions Agreement of 7 July 2016.

Furthermore, of particular interest is what is highlighted in Annex A to point 9 of the State-Regions Agreement of 7 July 2016, namely that the RSPP 40 hour refresher course is also valid as a five-year refresher of the course for safety coordinators on construction sites and as a three-year refresher of the training course for safety trainers.

The RSPP update is expected every 5 years.
